Artist in Residence Weekend Ends With Crayola

World renowned artist Mordechai Rosenstein, spent the past weekend with Temple Kol Ami and B'nai Israel Synagogue.  Rosenstein attended and spoke at Kol Ami's Friday night Shabbat service and B'nai Israel's Saturday morning service, and then hosted a special Saturday night event for both synagogues.

The weekend culminated on Sunday morning with a special program for Kol Ami's religious school children. Rosenstein first explained how he draws Hebrew letters and uses his creativity to make the letters look like other objects, and then passed out sheets of paper with the beginning of an art project already on them.

The children then created their own masterpieces, with many of the kids writing their Hebrew names and decorating them just like Rosenstein does in his paintings, and were so excited to take home their original Jewish artwork.
