Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital Names New COO

MaryClaire Dangel-Palmer CRNA, MSN, has been appointed chief operating officer at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital.

She will begin her new duties on Feb 1.

Dangel-Palmer has held various leadership positions at the hospital, most recently as administrator for Surgical, Anesthesia and Cardiac Services. She was the hospital lead for the expansion of surgical services during the current construction project of three additional operating rooms.

One of the original directors hired to plan and implement the 2009 opening of the West Bloomfield hospital, her many contributions included the development of policies and an orientation program, as well as hiring new staff.

As the director of Nurse Anesthesia & Perioperative Services, she developed procedures that reduced the time required to prepare an operating room between cases by more than 25 percent, well beyond the national standard.

Before coming to Henry Ford, Dangel-Palmer served as the clinical coordinator for the Nurse Anesthesia department at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.

Dangel-Palmer includes the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists among her professional affiliations.

She earned her Master’s and Bachelor’s of Science degrees in Nursing from Oakland University.
