Prime29 Steakhouse of West Bloomfield (Maple and Orchard Lake Road) rallied throughout the holiday season to honor slain Officer Patrick O'Rourke and help out his wife and four children.

A terrible tragedy occurred this past September when Officer O’Rourke, a 12-year veteran of the West Bloomfield Police Department, was shot to death in the line of duty.

As the community pulled together, Prime29 Steakhouse wanted to do its part.  While benefits were being held throughout the community, the team at Prime29 Steakhouse displayed a donation box that they kept up throughout the holiday season so that area residents could continue to show its generous support to a family man who dedicated his life to law enforcement. Prime29 Steakhouse matched what the community donated and a check in the amount of $1550.00 was donated to the Patrick O'Rourke Family Trust.  This trust has been established for the safety, health and welfare of Officer O'Rourke's family.

Prime29 Steakhouse owner Joe Barbat said, "police officers are among our bravest of people and that Officer O'Rourke lost his life in such a senseless manner is a shame. Whatever role Prime29 can play in assisting the healing of the wounds his wife and children have suffered, we are honored to do".
