The West Bloomfield School District Board of Education will be presented with a final report from Mr. Shannon Bingham of Western Demographics and the SEAF Committee at its regularly scheduled board meeting on August 27, 2012 in the West Bloomfield High School Media Center.
The West Bloomfield School District began examining its school enrollment trends and how it utilizes its facilities during the Spring of 2012. Changes in funding and enrollment have continued to challenge the district to be as efficient as it can in the utilization of its financial resources and facilities.
Accordingly, Western Demographics, Inc. was hired to assist the district with a careful analysis of enrollment trends and facilities. School district stakeholders had the opportunity to be involved by attending community focus groups, open house meetings and other events. Western worked in partnership with TMP and Wakely Architecture firms conducting comprehensive evaluations of the condition of district schools as part of the work.
As a follow-up to the recommendations made to the board by Western Demographics and Shannon Bingham, there will be a Board of Education Study Session on September 6 at 7:00 pm in the West Bloomfield High School Media Center. The public is invited to attend. The purpose of the Study Session is for the board to ask questions clarifying the recommendations and gain a better understanding of the entire report.
The board will make its final decision on those recommendations at the September 24 board meeting at West Bloomfield High School.
