Temple Israel Volunteers Plant Garden

On Wednesday, volunteers from the Temple Israel community helped to prepare and plant more than 200 vegetable plants in the Garden of Mitzvot. Throughout the summer, volunteers will tend to the garden as we look forward to harvesting to support Yad Ezra. We are growing the following produce:  tomatoes, peppers, peas, beans, strawberries, beets, onions, radishes, eggplants, potatoes, cucumbers, and several varieties of squash.

We welcome friendly volunteers with a love and passion for gardening, to assist with weeding, harvesting, and delivering donations.

Interested? Please contact Elaine Bertsch at 248-661-5700 or Elaine@temple-israel.org. We are also collecting small plastic produce cartons (pint and quart size with holes) for harvest. Drop these items over the fence in the garden anytime.
