The West Bloomfield School District Board of Education and the West Bloomfield Public Library recognized outstanding students who participated in the library's Summer Reading program at Monday's meeting in West Bloomfield High School.

School Board President David Einstandig said that of the 2,042 participants in the township, 998 were enrolled in the school district. The top five students from each school in the district were given a medal by library director Clara Bohrer.

The Summer Reading program offered youth and adults alike the opportunity to read from a collection of high-interest books.
