Bites Nearby: Coyote Grill
This modest-looking restaurant on Hiller Road has been in business for 21 years because it offers a fulfilling, complete dining experience.
Coyote Grill, 1990 Hiller Rd., 248-681-6195
Near sleepy-looking subdivisions, two miles north of the twisting Old Orchard Trail, lies one of the gems in West Bloomfield, which is right where it belongs.
Coyote Grill’s front exterior has a square sign and a small parking lot; combined with the pronunciation guide on its Tex-Mex and Southwestern-themed menu and its modest Detroit sports signage, it could easily be mistaken as dull.
However, its three floors, including a banquet room on the bottom and a dining room with an indoor pond, along with its searing-hot steak fajitas, delicious desserts and a fine beer and wine selection, make it a great choice for a night out with family or friends. Coyote Grill is filled with exciting contrasts like that, which has allowed brothers-in-law Louie Simovski and Jordan Dimovic to remain in business since 1990.
But given its popular choices, such as fajitas with refried beans, barbecue and steak, Coyote Grill is not the first choice for area vegetarians or health food fans.
However, Simovski said the restaurant is working to incorporate a wider variety of salads and include stronger emphasis on turkey and seafood dishes. With that in mind, Coyote Grill is worth a second look for anyone who hasn't been there lately.

I must mention the great Ribs and New York Strip. And, if you're looking for a Veggie Burrito they do up a great one. Grab a seat at the bar if you can...this local hang out is long on fishing tales - and welcoming regular patrons!

Thanks for the comment, Lisa! We didn't try the veggie burrito, but we're going to have to be on the lookout for some fishing tales the next time we go.
