Sometimes, it seems as though everyone in West Bloomfield has an opinion on The Original Romano's. The Orchard Lake Village location is the last of a pizzeria chain founded in Farmington in 1959, which eventually grew to several locations in Oakland County, including West Bloomfield.
Its catering service is well-known by Little Leagues, PTOs and senior groups alike and it also offers carry out and delivery - but no sit-down dining.
Offering a versatile selection of dishes from Mexican to Kosher, Italian to Greek, Hawaiian to All-American, The Original Romano's catering proves very popular, especially in the summer. Popular picnic menus range from $9.95-11.95 per person and can include hamburgers, Polish sausage, all-beef hot dogs, barbecued chicken and barbecued ribs.
However, the key of The Original Romano's is still its pizza and breadsticks offerings and its savory pizza sauce. In addition to a meat lover's specialty pizza, The Original Romano's offers a Greek pizza and a chicken margherita, which could transport one in Italy if it weren't for the location at the busy intersection of Orchard Lake Road and Pontiac Trail.
Toni Mannino Feldman owns and operates The Original Romano's, which, according to its website, was purchased by the family in 1972 as a Christmas gift.
