Hands-on activities littered the Charles Bowers School Farm on Saturday, during the Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch opening-day celebration that kicks off the season.

There were goats, sheep, rabbits and more farm animals for children to pet, as well as an opportunity to milk a goat. A hay maze was available for children five and younger, and a sizeable bon fire for families to warm up.

The farm's corn maze offers two difficulty levels, and includes a punch card game for an added challenge. Also, the corn maze will be haunted during the nighttime hours of the last two weekends in October.

Saturday marked the start of the Bowers Farm season, and it is now open Friday-Sunday evenings through Halloween.
