BROOKLYN — West Bloomfield High School junior Erin Finn continued her unbeaten 2011 season with a win in the Michigan High School Athletic Association state championship at Michigan International Speedway Saturday.

She said that her time of 17 minutes, 22.6 seconds wasn't what she had hoped, but it was enough to best Rockford senior Taylor Manett by two seconds.

Fellow Laker Ben Griessmann finished 102 for the boys with a time of 16:40.3, while junior Bjorn Kempf finished 129 with a time of 16:49.6.

Congratulations, Erin! We loved having you on the swim team last year, but following your cross country success this year was even better.
