Feel Good, West Bloomfield: Trash Collectors Save Pet Bird
Police reportedly investigating after parakeets in a cage were found on the curb Tuesday morning.
Thanks to the sharp eyes of trash collectors in West Bloomfield, a pet bird which had been put on the curb in a cage with the trash this week will survive.
Meanwhile, the bird's owner may be subject to investigation by West Bloomfield Police seeking answers of who could do such a thing.
Freezing temperatures on Tuesday morning claimed the life of one of the two parakeets which had been thrown away, according to a spokesperson for Rizzo Services, the township's contracted trash hauler. The two trash collectors discovered the living bird as it was about to be compacted and contacted their supervisors.
Rizzo continued that the bird which was found alive is in good health after being taken alive and transported to a local veterinarian. The township sent out an email blast to find the abandoned bird a home and one has been found.
According to a report on clickondetroit.com, police are investigating the incident.

Anyone who could do such a thing to innocent creatures is indeed sick and twisted and in dire need of help. They also need watching and investigating to see what else they have done perhaps to other living things. They are not fit to walk with the rest of us and certainly should be made to pay for this horrific deed.
