Kroger Recalls Aunt Jemima Frozen Pancakes
Kroger is recalling Aunt Jemima frozen pancakes for because they may contain soy. The supermarket chain is also making automated phone calls to inform customers about the recall.
Kroger stores are recalling certain Aunt Jemima Frozen Pancakes because they may contain soy protein.
According to a release from Pinnacle Foods Group LLC, the parent company for Aunt Jemima, people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy protein may run the risk of an allergic reaction if they consume this product.
Pinnacle issued the voluntary recall after it discovered "there may have been a potential cross-contact with product that contained soy protein being produced on the same equipment" according to the release.
The company has no reports of illness, and the Food and Drug Administration has been made aware of this recall.
According to Pinnacle, this recall applies to Aunt Jemima Frozen Panckes in cardboard cartons with the UPC codes listed below, and were sold and distributed with a "Recommended Use By Date" between Nov.1, 2011 up to and including Oct. 16, 2012.

Pinnacle states customers who are allergic to, or have severe sensitivity to soy protein, should return the product to the store where purchased for a full refund. The product is safe to eat for individuals who do not have soy allergies.
