Large Fire Burns Through Roof at Pine Estates Home
Responding crews from six fire stations in West Bloomfield and others reported being able to see smoke and fire from miles away Thursday night. No one was hurt.
A large home fire Thursday night wasn't extinguished for over four hours, as crews from six West Bloomfield Fire Department stations worked through Thursday night into Friday morning at Pine Estates.
The home on 3553 Pine Estates, off of Middlebelt Road just north of Long Lake Road, was occupied by residents at the time of the fire, but everyone safely evacuated, authorities said.
Crews from West Bloomfield as well as Bloomfield Township Fire Department reported being able to see smoke and flames from "miles away" as they responded about 11:05 p.m. They arrived to actively venting smoke and "flames extending some 60 feet into the night sky."
Among the damages were a roof that was partially burnt through, multiple vehicles, the living space and attic, authorities said. Firefighters worked for over four hours to trap the fire and put it out.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, authorities said. Residents reported the fire after hearing a "loud noise coming from the garage."
