Need to Cool Down Today? West Bloomfield Area Locations to Offer AC

Public buildings in West Bloomfield offer a break from the heat for those without power or air conditioning.

 

With the National Weather Service predicting day-time temperatures in West Bloomfield as high as 100 over the next few days, thousands without power or air conditioning in West Bloomfield can take a temporary break from the heat in public buildings. 

Here's where you can go to cool off: 

  • West Bloomfield Township Hall will offer water from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m on Friday. In addition, free, wireless internet access is available. Town Hall is at 4550 Walnut Lake Rd., West Bloomfield.
  • West Bloomfield Fire Station 5 will offer water and ice for 24 hours from Thursday night, at 8 p.m. to Sunday. Fire Station 5 is at 5425 W. Maple Rd., West Bloomfield.
  • West Bloomfield Fire Station 1 will offer water and ice and is open 24 hours, starting at 8 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Fire Station 1 is at at 4601 Orchard Lake Rd., West Bloomfield.
  • The Jewish Community Center will offer a cooling station, water, and ice from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The JCC is at 6600 W. Maple Rd., West Bloomfield.
  • An additional cooling station will be established in the Greater West Bloomfield area. 

DTE Energy expects restoration efforts to the 5,312 affected number of households in West Bloomfield and the Tri City area that West Bloomfield provides fire services will continue into the weekend, with some locations not expected to have their power back on until late Sunday night.
