Police: Dishwasher Stolen from Sea Grille Restaurant

The following information was provided by the West Bloomfield Township Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

West Bloomfield Township Police Department reports from Aug. 15-20 included 80 alarms, 35 crashes and 21 arrests. Among the highlights:

Dishwasher stolen from Sea Grille restaurant

The good news, said Lt. Tim Diamond, is that the Sea Grille restaurant is under new ownership after being closed to all but private parties for some time. That new ownership reported a commercial-grade dishwasher stolen by unknown suspects believed to have gotten through the back door, Diamond continued.

The incident, reported Aug. 18, may have occurred sometime within the month prior. Ownership reported the incident after noticing a back door damaged, Diamond said, which is where the suspects may have come in to take the dishwasher valued at $6,000.

Home invasion, attempt strikes Yarmouth Drive

Homeowners on the 7000 block of Yarmouth Drive reported several items stolen between Aug. 14-15 as police search for leads and suspects, Diamond said.

A thief or thieves are believed to have entered through a kitchen window using a ladder and prybar, Diamond continued, to steal a 50" plasma television, video games, and liquor as the homeowners were away. That same day, Diamond said, a next-door neighbor reported their laundry room window screen as having disappeared.

Detectives are currently investigating with the understanding that the two incidents are likely related, Diamond added.
