The following information was provided by the West Bloomfield Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Highlights of West Bloomfield Township Police Department reports from June 8-14 revealed the following:
Receiving and concealing stolen property
West Bloomfield High School students who reported property stolen from the school recently may be breathing easier after a 16-year-old female and an 18-year-old male were arrested on felony charges of receiving and concealing stolen property.
Police Lt. Curt Lawson said that the 18-year-old resident was arrested during a traffic stop after undercover officers from the South Oakland Narcotics Intelligence Consortium had recorded surveillance footage of the man removing items from his garage that previously were reported stolen from WBHS.
Lawson said the man identified as his accomplice a 16-year-old WBHS student whom he said stole items from other students at school to give to him to sell to pawn shops, including a BlackBerry, a necklace and a camera.
Police had recorded the man removing items from his garage and placing them in his car after an ongoing investigation by school liaison Detective Charles Mendham. Both suspects were held and released pending warrants.
Police need help to find suspects in a case of three vehicles being spray-painted orange at the corner of Aldingbrooke Circle Road and Templar Crossing, according to Lt. Curt Lawson. The incident occurred between 2:30-11 a.m. Saturday, police said. Lawson said it appears that a vehicle drove past a Mercedes-Benz, a Nissan Versa and a Ford pickup, all parked in the street, and spray-painted those vehicles' windows as it drove past.
Larceny leads to flooding
A property manager at the 7000 block of Orchard Lake Road came to work June 7 to find that his parking lot was flooded after a 2-foot piece of copper piping was stolen from the outside of the building between 7 p.m. June 6 and 5:30 a.m. June 7. Police have no suspects.
