Police: Tires Stolen Off Vehicle at Whitney Court Condos; Contractor Accused of Jewelry Theft
The West Bloomfield Police Department provided the following information. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.
A resident in the Whitney Court Condominiums at 6151 Orchard Lake Road, reported that she awoke to find the specialty rims and tires missing from her new vehicle on Feb. 21.
The woman told officers with the West Bloomfield Township Police Department that she parked her 2013 Dodge Charger outside the residence at about 2:30 a.m. and found it resting on cement blocks, with no tires when she attempted to go to work at about 7 a.m. The rims were described as chrome, 5-spoke 20-inch rims valued at $3,500.
No suspect information was available.
Contractor investigated for theft
A resident in the 3000 block of Hutchins Hills drive told police he hired an acquaintance as a contractor to perform dry wall repair on the property, on Feb. 21. After completing the work, the resident discovered that two pieces of distinct jewelry were missing from his bedroom dresser, police reports said.
One of the items was a gold chain and religious charm described as a ‘priceless’ family heirloom, reports said. The other was a gold and diamond men’s bracelet valued at about $3,000.
Reports state the victim did not pay for the contracting work and later confronted the contractor, a 48-year-old man from Detroit, who denied taking the items.
The report was referred to the detective bureau for further investigation.
- 6700 block of Orchard Lake Road, Powerhouse Gym: A member reported that someone broke into her locker between 9:40 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. on Feb. 20 and stole her handbag and cash. Total loss was estimated at $1,600.
- 5300 block of Par Valley Court, resident reported an unknown person took a package valued at about $180 from the doorstep about 10 days ago.
