State Rep. Eileen Kowall (R-White Lake) made the following statement after Gov. Rick Snyder's third State of the State address this week:

"There has been quite a turnaround in our state over the past two years. Tonight, the governor stressed that although things have improved, we still need to find ways to help make our economy healthy so that Michigan can be a better place to live and work. I remain committed to creating an effective, accountable and transparent government, while looking for long-term solutions to our problems.

"Thanks to our reform efforts, our state has already become more competitive. While things are looking up, there are many more challenges to address and I am prepared to look at all possible solutions and opinions to help Michigan reach its full potential. Reform will never be easy, but we need to do everything we can to grow our economy and keep our children and grandchildren here in Michigan."
