West Bloomfield Church Seeks Expansion Approval

Metro Detroit Christian Church, which recently relocated from Farmington Hills, plans to renovate an existing place of worship at Middlebelt and Maple roads.

There is a common idiom which claims that someone only gets one chance at a first impression. Metro Detroit Christian Church is apparently hoping to make the most of theirs.

On Tuesday night, the West Bloomfield Township Planning Commission will consider new construction and renovation to the building south of Maple Road and east of Middlebelt Road, which has recently become occupied after the congregation's move from Farmington Hills.

The nondenominational church, guided by Pastors Peter and Lisa Dresser, seeks to add a 450 square-foot expansion to the sanctuary area for a platform, a barrier-free bathroom, and an enclosure to an existing courtyard.

Planning Commission meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. and are broadcast by Civic Center TV. Download the Planning Commission meeting agenda at www.wbtwp.com (PDF).
