West Bloomfield Schools Closed Today Due To Wintry Weather

Inclement weather closes schools across Metro Detroit Friday.

West Bloomfield Schools will close today, due to snowy and hazardous travel conditions.

It's the first snow day for the district since freezing rain closed school around Metro Detroit Jan. 28. Public schools and private schools in West Bloomfield and surrounding districts are also closed, according to WXYZ-TV

Roughly four inches of snow fell overnight on the entire Metro Detroit area, and more wet, heavy snow is expected through Friday morning, as the area remains under a winter weather advisory, according to the National Weather Service.

Snow covered and icy roads have led to multiple accidents, and dozens of school districts in Oakland, Wayne and Macomb counties closed for the day, according to local television station reports.

Today's high is expected to reach 31 degrees.
