DESCRIPTION:"Passing" is inspired by the true story of Minerva Roulhac\,
born in 1885 in Florida and orphaned at five. She was adopted by a for
mer slave and raised as black\, although she was very light skinned in
a close-knit African American community. Her brother\, Jordon ran away
and decided to pass for white. Minerva raised eight children (all colle
ge-educated) and lived to be nearly 100 years old. "Passing" confronts
 issues of race\, identity\, ethnicity\, complexion\, class and interrac
 ial relationships.\n&nbsp\;&ldquo\;Passing&rdquo\; stars actress Mayowa
 Lisa Reynolds\, a dancer\, choreographer\, educator\,\ncommunity activis
t and Associate Minister at Fellowship Chapel in Detroit\, who uses the
performing arts as her vehicle to promote awareness\, unity\, cultural
pride and personal excellence for young people. This is the story of h
 er choice.
