4 West Bloomfield DSO Concerts to Put on Your 2014 Calendar

Classical music lovers will enjoy concerts in January, March, May and July at the Berman Center for the Performing Arts.

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) has announced its 2014 West Bloomfield Township Neighborhood Concert Series, concerts held Thursdays, 7:30 p.m., at Berman Center for the Performing Arts, 6600 W. Maple Drive. 

Here are the dates classical music lovers should put on their calendars:

1. January 16: Mozart and Bach
Martin Frӧst, conductor and clarinet, also includes selections by Bartók and Gabriela Lena Frank. 

2. March 13: Copland's Clarinet Concerto

Martin Frӧst, conductor and clarinet, includes selections by Grieg, Lutoslawski and Stravinsky.

3. May 8: Mozart and Haydn
Ward Stare, conductor, and Elena Urioste, violin, includes selections by Vaughn Williams, Prokofiev and Ravel. 

4. July 17: Mozart and Schubert
Christopher Warren-Green, conductor, and Hunter Eberly, trumpet, includes selections by Rossini and Telemann.
