5 Things to Know About Applying for a Passport

The West Bloomfield Township Clerk's Office is open late the second Wednesday of each month for anyone who needs a passport.

The West Bloomfield Township Clerk's office at Town Hall is the place to go tonight if you need a passport and can't get there during regular business hours. 

Passports are processed on the second Wednesday of each month; the next date is Sept. 11. Here are five things you should know before you go:

  1. Applications are accepted until 6:30 p.m.; the office is open until 7 p.m.
  2. You'll need to provide proof of U.S. citizenship, with a previous passport, certified copy of your birth certificate, naturalization certificate or similar document.
  3. An ID document, like a driver's license or military ID is required.
  4. Bring a 2 x 2 photograph.
  5. Credit card payments are not accepted; passport fees must be paid by check or money order.
