Meet 12 Local Authors at the Jewish Book Fair in West Bloomfield

Book topics include history, Facebook, creativity, debt, poetry and more.

The Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit’s 62nd Annual Jewish Book Fair will feature local authors from 10 a.m. to noon on Nov. 10.

Hosted at the JCC, Maple and Drake in West Bloomfield, the following metro Detroit authors will talk about their books: 

Rich Adler: Cholera in Detroit, A History
The true story of the horrific cholera epidemics of 1832-1866. 

Ryan Beale: Forty Days of Facebook 
His world shattered by death and divorce, Ryan Beale becomes determined to change his life. 

Todd Brockdorf: Better Than Average 
Learn how to distinguish yourself from the crowd, develop creativity and emulate today’s business leaders. 

Joy Gaines-Friedler: Dutiful Heart 
A collection of moving poems from author/photographer Joy Gaines-Friedler. 

Ken Gross: Dump Your Debt
Financial crisis-management attorney and talk show host Ken Gross provides detailed steps on how to use the right mix of available tools to shed debt so that your future income goes in the bank and not to the bank. 

Steven Hartman: My Funny Old Soul Mate
A love story about a waitress, an older widower and a neighbor named Bill. 

Daniel Hodges: Shabbat Sparkles
A bright children’s story about the joys and many facets of being Jewish.

Also available for purchase will be Robert Kass’ The Executioner’s Companion, a complete guide to help anyone survive the death of a loved one; and The Coping Poems, by Dina Routin, who only days after marrying discovered that her husband had only months to live. These stark and beautiful poems were her answer to the silence, despair and tremendous love she felt for James Routin.
