Try Zip Line and More on Proud Lake Adventure Day Aug. 17

The Walled Lake Outdoor Education Center (WLOEC) and The Proud Lake Recreation Area-Michigan Department of Natural Resources are hosting Proud Lake Adventure Day on Aug. 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Proud Lake Recreation Area (3500 Wixom Road, Commerce Twp., 48382). This event is free and open to the public.

The zip line, climbing tower, fishing, mountain biking, canoeing, archery, environmental education activities will all be available for kids and adults. Ice cream and a Kids Activity Passport will be provided. There will be hot dogs, pop, and chips for sale. All ages are welcome, but children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. All children under 18 must have a signed waiver by their parent or guardian to participate in adventure challenge activities. It is free to participate in all activities but vehicles entering the State Park must have a Recreation Passport.

Participants must be 46 inches or taller in order to participate on the zip line and climbing tower.  Participants may not exceed 250 pounds for the zip line.

Access the District website, www.wlcsd.org, for the WLOEC Parent Waiver. Waivers will also be available the day of the event.
