If you're planning to head out Thursday night or Friday, West Bloomfield, take extra warm gloves.

The National Weather Service (NWS) on Thursday announced that 10-15 mph winds will lead to wind chill values 17-23 degrees below zero. Temperatures as low as 10 degrees below zero are expected as well.

The wind chill advisory remains in effect from 6 p.m. Thursday to noon Friday in Oakland, Macomb, Lapeer, Livingston and Genesee counties.

The NWS warns that prolonged skin exposure to the cold can result in frostbite and hypothermia. Anyone who ventures outdoors should limit their exposure to the elements and wear hats and gloves.
