Japanese Storytime & Celebration

The Consulate-General of Japan in Detroit and the Library are partnering to bring a special celebration of Japanese culture to West Bloomfield. All ages are invited to join us for traditional Japanese children’s stories and songs, as well as a demonstration and display of the traditional Japanese robe, the yukata. Hands-on activity stations with calligraphy and origami will follow.

The program will be videotaped and shared with residents of Awaji City, the home of our sister library. Come and be part of this special event and cultural exchange!

Stories, songs and yukata demonstration at 2 PM
Activity stations from 2:30 – 4 PM
