The hospital will host an Indian cooking class and panel discussions about health issues next month.

Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital starts a new year of classes and programs in January:

Indian Cooking - Jan. 14, 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
Learn how to incorporate popular Indian seasonings into your daily cooking. Recipes will feature a variety of dishes made with curry and other seasonings, plus special cooking techniques that are fun and easy to learn. Cost: $23 per person

What is Causing Your Legs to Swell? - Jan. 23, 5 p.m.-6 p.m.
A common condition, usually around ankles and feet, leg swelling can result from fluid retention, dysfunctional veins, or inflammation of tissues or joints. Sometimes leg swelling is a sign of a more serious disorder, such as heart disease or a blood clot. Find out how vascular medicine can address the problem during this free presentation. 

Let’s Twist - Jan. 28, 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
Join Chef Rob in a fun experiment of twisting original recipes of America’s favorite foods into healthy and affordable options that you can prepare at home with little or no effort. Demonstrations include beef stroganoff, meatloaf, and cream of mushroom soup. Cost is $23 per person.

Signs and Symptoms of a Heart Attack - Jan. 29, 5 p.m.–6 p.m.
Join a free panel discussion with a cardiologist and a member of the cardiac rehabilitation team in a virtual journey into a heart attack: signs, causes, symptoms and risk factors. Participate in a discussion to understand the implications of a healthier lifestyle and the health benefits that you can expect from daily exercise.
