Obama to Visit, Paul Bunyan Trophy Up for Grabs

Good morning, West Bloomfield! We caught up with Miechia Esco of Southfield, who was working at Caribou Coffee in West Bloomfield to provide her husband with a sweet birthday gift this weekend. Sweetest Day falls on Saturday — are you doing anything special to celebrate with someone?

The National Weather Service calls for the following Friday forecast:

Day: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 58 degrees. Breezy, with a west wind 10 to 13 mph increasing to between 19 and 22 mph. Winds could gust as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Night: Isolated showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45 degree. West wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

For your information, the Detroit Tigers will continue to Game 6 after a dramatic, 7-5 win over Texas last night. Game 6 will be played in Arlington, TX on Saturday. The first pitch is at 8:05 EST.

The biggest news of the day is that President Barack Obama is set to tour the Orion Township General Motors assembly plant plant with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak this morning. Meanwhile, the Michigan State Spartans football team will take on the University of Michigan Wolverines for the Paul Bunyan Trophy tomorrow at 12 p.m. in East Lansing.
