Weekend Countdown: Chaldean Food Tasting

Patch tells you what's happening this weekend around West Bloomfield.

It's Monday. The weekend just ended. However, it's always fun to look ahead at what's going on in and around town for the next weekend. We are going to pick some of the fun events daily to help you plan and count down until it's the weekend again.

Why go: As part of the 60th Annual , you can take a culinary journey and enjoy tastings from one of the world's oldest cuisines on Friday.  You will learn about the history of Chaldeans, in the Metro Detroit area and Mesopotamia. The Chaldean American Ladies of Charity cookbook, , will be used to demonstrate the making of vegetarian dolma and baklawa. You will get to try these two recipes plus Iraqi salad.  The importance of sharing a table and the time-honored traditions of enjoying foods in the Chaldean culture will be shared with you.
