Why go: Orchard Mall offers an inside night of festive trick-or-treating in a fun safe environment. You may want to get there a little early, because this is a popular annual event. Merchants will hand out candy to costumed trick-or-treaters and leave their doors open for some extra shopping. Joe Cornell Entertainment of Farmington will provide music for the kids to dance to. Lots of kids enjoy this part just as much as getting the goodies. There will also be games and contests, plus Frameable Faces Photography will take the little ones' pictures for free.

When: Friday or Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Why go: Last year, Three Men and a Tenor performed to sold-out audiences. These guys play great pop vocal music from The Temptations, Elvis Presley, Bob Marley and more. You will be amazed by their smooth harmonies and unique style. Plus the four men have a quick witted sense of humor sure to make you smile. The Farmington Players Barn offers an intimate atmosphere where you can enjoy this family-oriented musical comedy performance.

Where:

When: Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

Why go: The sisters received recognition as piano soloists early on in their careers, but in 1994 they blended their talents into an award winning duo. The Steinway artists have produced four highly acclaimed albums. The duo has won several prestigious international and national competitions, and on Sunday they bring their talent to Temple Israel as part of the Schmier Chapel Chamber Series presented in loving memory of Leslie R. Schmier and Jessica R. Schmier. If you love concert piano this should be a delightful treat.

Where:

When: Friday at 9 p.m.

Why go: Spooky fun Halloween activities are not just for kids. Let us not forget Halloween is a holiday adults like to celebrate too. On Friday night, the Library Pub is getting all decked out in a Halloween theme. Right now bartenders are creating special mixes for Halloween shots, cocktails, and martinis. Local deejays Music in Motion will create haunting sounds and spin the tunes to flood the dance floor. The Pub is giving you reason to go with the festivities and dress up in costume with 10 percent off your tab if you do. Plus if your costume is good enough to win first prize, enjoy your vacation in Mexico!

Where:

When: Sunday at 4 p.m.

Why go: There are never too many Halloween festivities for children to attend. It only comes once a year. On Sunday, St. Thomas is hosting another safe Halloween Party for kids attend. Besides trick-or-treating, the Church is offering games including the old-fashioned bobbing for apples. Children can also participate and win prizes in the costume contest. They can make their own caramel apples, enjoy a slice of pizza, visit the rooms of Saints, watch a skit or carve a pumpkin. All that fun makes me wish I was a kid again!
