In an article shared on West Bloomfield Patch's Facebook timeline, Alam Stamm of Deadline Detroit reported Aug. 28 on Lillian's rise to fame on the Vine social media video sharing website. She had posted around 100 short videos and had more than 120,000 followers.
A day after the Deadline Detroit article came out, Gawker.com reported that Vine had suspended Lillian's account, because of a change in its age restrictions. elitedaily.com reported that Lillian had created a new account, but her new Vine postings also appear to be missing.
Gawker has created a hashtag to build a groundswell of support to #freelillian.
