Explore all West Bloomfield Township Public Library has to offer — including more ways than ever to enjoy reading – during summer programs that start June 15.

The Summer Reading Kick-Off at the Main Library offers a day of family fun and the opportunity for readers of all ages to register for the library's summer reading program. Activities will include:

  • Miniature Golf: 9 a. m.– 4 p.m.
  • Bounce House & Inflatable Slide: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m
  • Petting Zoo: 12 p.m.-4 p.m.
  • Pony Rides: 12 p.m.-3 p.m.
  • Face and Body Painting: 12 p.m.-4 p.m.
  • Human Hamster Balls: 12 p.m.-4 p.m.
  • Bubbleman: 2 p.m.

The library has high-interest books, audiobooks, e-books, graphic novels, magazines and more to keep children and teens reading all summer. Children who read five or more books over summer break can maintain and even improve their reading skills and return to school in September without summer learning loss.

The Library also has a “Read to Me” program for babies, toddlers and preschoolers.

The summer calendar of events includes popular programs from the past, like family music events with Jill Gill and Star Trax, Lego Mania, Pizza & Pages, Mad Science Electricity, and Arts & Scraps. New programs will include Duct Tape Art, Bottle Cap Pendants, Sharpie Tie Dye, Games Galore and a new performance from Madcap Puppets.

To register for the summer reading program beginning June 15, visit the Main LibraryWestacres Branch  or westbloomfieldlibrary.org/summer, where you'll find a complete list of activities.
