Calling All Artists: Orchard Lake Fine Art Show Is Looking for Applicants

The deadline for artists to apply for this celebrated art show is March 5.

Attention West Bloomfield-area artists: the 2013 Orchard Lake Fine Art Show is looking for you.

The juried art show, which is celebrating its 11th year this year, is looking for professional and amateur artists to participate in the event taking place July 26-28 in the heart of West Bloomfield, south of Maple and west of Orchard Lake Road.

Every year, the Orchard Lake Fine Art Show brings together hundreds of local artists and artisans and their paintings, clay sculptures, jewelry, photography and more. Voted as one of the top 100 art shows in the country during the past six years in a row, the Orchard Lake Fine Art Show has also won six awards from the Michigan Festivals and Events office.

So what's up for grabs for the artists? According to Patty Narozny, executive director of the show, organizers will be giving out $2,500 in awards in 2013.

Applications for all artists who want to participate are due by March 5. Applications can be found at www.hotworks.org and with it, artists must turn in:

  • Three images of his or her most compelling work
  • A photo of their booth presentation as they would set it up at the art show
  • $20 application/jury fee

Notifications to those accepted will be sent by April 5.

The show opens at 5 p.m. Friday, July 26 on Powers and Daly Roads in West Bloomfield, near the West Bloomfield Plaza. Admission is $5 and parking is free. For more information, visit www.hotworks.org/orchardlakefineartsshow.
