Apple Island Tours

Don’t miss this once-yearly chance to explore 35-acre, historical Apple Island in the middle of Orchard Lake on docent-led tours.

Special Presentations

  • Genot Picor as a 1700s French-Huron Metis’ with storytelling and games
  • Mike Jewell as Mikwandahn demonstrating Native-American life skills
  • Jeff Vallender portraying a 1700s explorer at his campsite

How to attend:

  • Sign-up only in person at the Orchard Lake Museum, 3951 Orchard Lake Road at Long Lake Road.
  • First-come, first-served sign-up begins at 11:30 a.m.  No phone reservations.
  • Last tour groups leave the museum at 3:30 p.m.

$12 for adults, $6 for children 12 years and under. GWBHS members free, including those who join this weekend. Time Travelers members $2 off admission.

    weather – the boat ride and island are cooler than the shore.
