Juilliard String Quartet, Chamber Music Society of Detroit

The legendary Juilliard String Quartet will open the 69th season of the Chamber Music Society of Detroit on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at 8:00 p.m. performing string quartets by Beethoven. The concert takes place at the Seligman Performing Arts Center, located at 22305 West 13 Mile Road (at the corner of Lahser and 13 Mile Roads), Beverly Hills, on the campus of Detroit Country Day School.  Tickets $30 - $60; advance student tickets are available at half price; student rush tickets are $10. A pre-concert film, The Juilliard String Quartet: Keeping Beethoven Contemporary, is open to ticket holders free of charge. It is the world premiere and includes rehearsal and performance excerpts, ongoing dialogue between the four musicians, and a conversation between the quartet members and the filmmakers about he string quartet as a genre of music and the significant contributions of Beethoven.
