West Bloomfield Grad's Film Slated for Summer Release

Sam Logan Khaleghi's "For Love of Country: Approaching Midnight" will be distributed by Lionsgate Home Entertainment this fall.

West Bloomfield High graduate Sam Logan Khaleghi's film "For Love of Country: Approaching Midnight" is slated for release in August, The Oakland Press reports.

Khaleghi wrote, produced and directed and also stars in the film, which has a budget of less than $1 million. In May, he told Patch that "For Love of Country: Approaching Midnight" centers around the story of Wesley Kent, an Afghanistan war veteran who faces tragedy, and a mystery, as he returns to his home in Louisiana.

Khaleghi plays the lead role; Jana Kramer, best known for her role as Alex Dupre on the hit television drama One Tree Hill, portrays Kent's girlfriend. Another cast member, Brandon T. Jackson, has signed to play Axel Foley's son in the television reprise of Beverly Hills Cop.

According to The Oakland Press story, Grindstone Entertainment Group now owns North American rights to the film and Lionsgate Home Entertainment will release the movie "across all media platforms" in the fall.
