Beaumont hosts 'Women, Wisdom & Wellness' event

Beaumont Health System is hosting “Women, Wisdom & Wellness,” a health fair to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event takes place on Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Beaumont Medical Center, 6900 Orchard Lake Road, West Bloomfield.

This free evening event includes Beaumont health and wellness experts; a variety of retail vendors; wine and appetizers; and dinner with a lecture. Beaumont breast cancer surgeon and chair of the health system’s breast cancer program, Nayana Dekhne, M.D., and plastic surgeon Julio Sosa, M.D. will partner with Gilda’s Club to discuss breast cancer and breast reconstruction. The dinner and lecture begin at 6:30 p.m. Registration is required for the dinner only.

“We invite the community to join us for an evening of health and wellness festivities,” says Carla Schwartz, director, Community Affairs and Advocacy, Beaumont Health System. “In addition to breast cancer experts, the health fair will also have medical staff to address heart health and diabetes.”

There will be door prizes and giveaways throughout the night.
