Madeline Triffon, Plum Market’s own Master Sommelier, will teach us the ultimate wine tasting technique, “blind tasting”. This means not knowing what the wine is, no blindfolds are actually used. No hints are given as to price, region or grape variety. Why taste wine this way? It trains you to identify quality independent of ratings or other people’s opinions! This is a very useful skill to have when assessing all sorts of wines, whether modest or very expensive. It makes one a truly educated consumer. Along the way, we’ll also cover the fundamentals of food and wine harmony, a.k.a. “what goes with what, and why”.
