Fifth Third Bank Website, 53.com, Attacked
The bank, which has multiple branches in the Greater West Bloomfield area, tells customers their accounts are secure.
Clarification: This article has been changed to reflect that the site was attacked, but not "hacked."
WXYZ reports that Fifth Third Bank's website was attacked on Tuesday.
According to the report, hackers did not gain access to customer data. The attack denied service to customers, by flooding the site with traffic.

Fifth Third Bank has two locations in the Greater West Bloomfield area:
- Fifth Third Bank, 6801 Telegraph Rd., Bloomfield Township
- Fifth Third Bank, 3120 South Blvd., Bloomfield Hills
- Fifth Third Bank, 1700 W. 14 Mile Rd., West Bloomfield
- Fifth Third Bank, 4747 Haggerty Rd., West Bloomfield
On Tuesday, the bank posted the following message on its Facebook page:

"We're actively monitoring and assessing delays on 53.com. This slowdown has not impacted customer accounts. We are working to restore online connectivity as soon as possible and will provide updates when available."
