Fuel Report: Gas Prices Jump to $4.09 After Holiday Weekend

The holiday weekend is officially over, but local gas prices are skyrocketing Tuesday morning.

According to the AAA, the average price for a gallon of gas in Metro Detroit is $4.09 this morning, up almost 15 cents from last week's average of $3.95.

Some of the lowest gas prices in and around southeastern Michigan can be found in Fraser, notably the Sunoco station at 14 Mile and Utica, where gas is $3.83 a gallon, and the Marathon station at Utica and Groesbeck, where gas is $3.87 a gallon.

In West Bloomfield, meanwhile, the cheapest gas you're going to find nearly matches with the regional average, with one station coming in at $4.08.
