Birmingham

Birmingham Restaurant Week: The eighth annual event, which was held in late January and early February, raised nearly $4,000 for Forgotten Harvest. Chefs from 20 restaurants created special, three-course menus for lunch and dinner costing $15 and $30, respectively, during Birmingham Restaurant Week.

Farmington

The North Carolina-based website gfreek.com recently recognized the two eateries for their gluten-free offerings. Peterlin's was named best Detroit gluten-free bar or pub and the Farmington Hills-based pizza chain was named best gluten-free local restaurant.

Berkey

Bagger Dave's: Diners at the Metro Detroit burger chain can participate in the Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan’s 2013 Hearts of Hope campaign during the month of February. Money raised through the sale of $1 pin-up hearts at the burger chain's Michigan locations – including Ann Arbor, Berkley, Bloomfield Township, Brighton, Cascade Township, East Lansing, Grand Rapids, Holland, Novi and Shelby Township – will be used to help support families dealing with blood diseases.
