Room to Grow

Homes with four or more bedrooms offer space and multiple options for homeowners.

Looking for a little elbow room? Every home featured here has four bedrooms or more and greater than 2,500 square feet of living space.

Obviously, larger families need more space for comfortable daily living, and the bedrooms are filled. However, smaller families, couples or even single homeowners can also put ample square footage to good use, and the options are as varied as your imagination.

Many people turn an extra bedroom into a home office and run a business from their home. If it's a dedicated space, and all the IRS rules are followed, a home office can offer excellent tax benefits.

Others enjoy having a guest room that's always ready for visitors - no more relatives on the living room couch!

An unused bedroom can be easily turned into a home gym complete with exercise equipment and perhaps a sound system. Creating a hobby room is also common, and avid crafters enjoy not having to stash their supplies in a closet every time they work on a project.

Some people desperately need extra closet space, and a spare bedroom can be turned into a lavish dressing room/walk in closet. Another idea is a dedicated space for computer work and play, or a library with book shelves and a couple of comfortable chairs. A quiet place for kids to study or do homework without distractions is another good use for an extra bedroom.
