West Bloomfield Mexican Restaurant, Tequila Bar Opens Monday

The owners of Huerto Restaurant & Tequila Bar, which opens Monday on Orchard Lake Road, looked at five communities before deciding on West Bloomfield Township. 

"We realized all the possibilities of great things we could do together as team with the community and the businesses here," said partner Eduardo Mayin. "It's an honor being part of the community." 

The "classy, but very casual" restaurant has seating for 90 in its main dining room, with an outdoor patio that will accommodate 80 patrons. The bar area will seat 80 at high-top tables. There's also a banquet room with seating for 100, which will also serve as overflow seating for the restaurant. 

Mayin said the bar will offer more than 75 brands of tequila. The restaurant's lunch and dinner menu featuring a blend of creative southwestern and traditional Mexican cuisine and a sprinkling of American dishes.

"It's what Mexican food is supposed to be," he said, "great value and great portions." 

Huerto, the Mexican word for "orchard", is located at 6199 Orchard Lake Rd. and will be open Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-midnight; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m.-2 a.m.; and, Sunday, 12 p.m.-midnight. Carryout is available.
