West Bloomfield Salon Helps Customers Glam it Up for Auto Show

Glitzy hair accessories and airbrushed make-up are popular with clients at Nadwa Hair Spa.

West Bloomfield salon owner Nadwa Yono has a word of advice for anyone looking to create a glamorous look for special occasions like the North American International Auto Show's charity gala:

Let your stylist roam free.

"It's a great idea to allow your hair dresser to create something new ... to give you something that's fashionable now," said Yono, who owns Nadwa Hair Spa. "You're going to get compliments all night long."

What's stylish now? Yono said braids are "a huge thing", with different types and styles that can be done with the client's own hair or with a hair piece. French twists are still popular as well, she said.

Yono said a number of her clients came in for hair and make-up before Friday's charity preview. Along with styling, hair accessories have been very popular, including tiaras. "Anything glitzy on the hair is hugely popular now," she said.

Finishing off the look, clients often opt for airbrush make-up, creating a flawless look that includes eyes, foundation and blush. "It's a great thing for parties," Yono said, "because it lasts 24 hours."
