What's Open on Christmas in West Bloomfield?

Although government, mail and trash service providers take the day off on Tuesday, there are some businesses which stay open.

Christmas is Tuesday, and while the snow is freshly fallen and the trees are lit up, you still may need to get out and around West Bloomfield Township. Here's what you need to know about what's open and closed.

Township offices   

  • Township offices: Town Hall, including the clerk's office, building and zoning department and treasurer's office, will be closed Monday and Tuesday. Town Hall will reopen Wednesday for normal business hours, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • Post office: The United States Post Office will also be operating under reduced hours on Christmas Eve and will be closed Christmas Day.
  • Trash collection: If your trash collection occurs on Monday, it will continue on schedule. However, if your trash collection occurs after Tuesday, it will be one day late. There is no trash collection on Tuesday.
  • Emergency: Call 911 for police or fire emergencies. For any nonemergency, call the police department at 248-975-9200.

Around town

  • Library: The West Bloomfield Township Main Library and Westacres Library will be closed Monday and Tuesday. The libraries will reopen Wednesday for normal business hours, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
  • Busch's Fresh Food Market: Open 7 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, open 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday, closed Tuesday.
  • Whole Foods: Open 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, open 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday, closed Tuesday.
  • CVS: The storefront at both locations in West Bloomfield, 7498 Haggerty Rd. and 6070 W. Maple Rd., will be open 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday. The pharmacy will be open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Both stores will be open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday, but their pharmacies will be closed.
  • Golden Phoenix: Offering authentic Cantonese and Szechwan cuisine, the restaurant will be open at 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday.
  • The Shangri La Chinese Restaurant: This Chinese restaurant features both traditional Chinese cuisine, plus American options. The restaurant will be open from 10 a.m.-2 a.m. Tuesday.
  • China King: This authentic Chinese restaurant will be open for dine-in or carry-out from 12:30-9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
