100 Still Without Power in West Bloomfield, but Cooler Weather to Come

Four days after storms knocked out power for thousands, some are still waiting to keep cool.

After saw high temperatures climb above three digits, Greater West Bloomfield residents who have been without power that long might be glad to know the week's forecast calls for cooler conditions.

The number of area residents without power dropped to 100 on Sunday night since the high of more than 5,000 Thursday, when storms knocked out power for over 35,000 in Oakland County.

Likewise, DTE Energy spokesperson Len Singer said Friday afternoon that most in Oakland County had been restored.

As of Sunday, those local customers without electricity since Thursday include a group of 14 on Bloomfield Glens Road and a group of 61 on Shaun Road. There was no indicator of an estimated restoration time.

According to the National Weather Service, area residents can likely look forward to a week of little to no rain, with a high temperature of 83 degrees this Thursday. Monday's forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and a 30 percent chance of rain.
