5 Events for Kids During Winter Break at the West Bloomfield Library

Kids and tweens are invited to come to the West Bloomfield Township Public Library  during winter break. The library is closed Dec. 24-25 and Dec. 31-Jan. 1. Here's a look at some of the events planned during the other days.

Lego Mania : Bring your imagination to the Main Library Youth Activity Center, the library will provide the Legos for informal building and play with Legos. The event takes place at 10 a.m. Dec. 26. No registration is required.

Meet the Berenstain Bears: Meet the December is Character Month. Greet the popular book character, the Berenstain Bears, and get ready for an interactive storytime featuring books, crafts, and games. The event takes place at 7 p.m. Dec. 26 in the Main Library Youth Activity Center. No registration is required.

Mosaic Madness : Bring your imagination to the Main Library Youth Activity Center and create your very own mosaic masterpiece. For ages 6-10. The event takes place at 1 p.m. Dec. 27. No registration is required.

Meet the Hungry Caterpillar: December is Character Month. Greet the popular book character, the Hungry Caterpillar, and get ready for an interactive storytime featuring books, crafts, and games. The event takes place at 10 a.m. Dec. 27 in the Main Library Youth Activity Center. No registration is required.

Fire & Ice: For ages 3-12.  Discover the cool chemistry in the states of matter and learn the basics of air pressure. Scissors will unexpectedly sizzle and carbon dioxide bubbles will pop as the chilling properties of dry ice are revealed. Be amazed when a ball is suspended over the audience and marvel at the strength of your own lungs with these radical air-pressure experiments! Brought to you by Mad Science of Detroit. The event takes place at 11 a.m. Dec. 28 in the Main Library Meeting Room. No registration is required.
