Boston Marathon Bombing Sends Shockwaves Across Country

Across Patch's network of 900 sites, including in West Bloomfield, people felt the effects of the bombing at the Boston Marathon.

Monday's terror attack near the finish line of the Boston Marathon shocked the country and touched communities far from Massachusetts.

In all, seven people from West Bloomfield were registered to run in the race, and one local runner was moved to organize a memorial run which will take place on Sunday.

The Boston Marathon draws participants from around the country. When the bombs went off, they reverberated among families, friends and people who joined vigils honoring the victims.
