Miss Oakland County Application Deadline is May 3

Young women ages 17-24 who have lived or worked at least 6 months or attend school full-time in Oakland County are eligible.

The deadline to apply for the 2013 Miss Oakland County Scholarship Program, a preliminary pageant to the Miss Michigan and Miss America Organization, is May 3.

Any woman, ages 17 to 24, who has lived, worked full-time or attends school full-time for a minimum of six months in Oakland County is eligible, according to the Facebook page.

The pagent will be held on July 13 and will consist of several phases of competition including:

  • Evening Wear
  • On-Stage Question
  • Swim Wear
  • Final Ballot

Last year, the Miss America Organization and its state and local organizations made available more than $45 million in cash and scholarship assistance, according to a press release, and also partners with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. 

Miss America 2008, Kirsten Haglund, was Miss Oakland County 2006, according to the release.
